Members of Windham Hospital United Unions are once again sounding the bed alarm about their community’s care crisis - and supporters, allies, patients and advocates are invited to join them. Technical, service and maintenance employees and their nursing colleagues at Windham Community Memorial Hospital (WCMH) will be rallying on the second day of a second unfair labor practice (ULP) strike.
Since taking over the facility, Hartford HealthCare (HHC)'s executives have repeatedly come up short when it comes to retaining their number one asset; a skilled healthcare workforce. Members of our coalition's unions representing the nurses and allied health professionals have been working for nearly a year - much of it without contracts - to resolve this failure.
Supporters are encouraged to wear their local union swag and bring friends, family and neighbors. Free parking is available on-street and in the nearby Kramer building lot, located at 322 Prospect Street.
