Members of Windham Hospital United Unions are turning up their call for fair contracts that address their community’s care crisis - and supporters, allies, patients and advocates are invited. Nurses and their technical and service and maintenance colleagues at Windham Community Memorial Hospital (WCMH) will be rallying on the second day of an unfair labor practice (ULP) strike.
Since taking over the facility, Hartford HealthCare (HHC)'s executives have repeatedly come up short when it comes to retaining their number one asset; a skilled healthcare workforce. Members of our coalition's unions representing the nurses and allied health professionals have been working for nearly a year - much of it without contracts - to resolve this failure.
Supporters are encouraged to wear their local union swag and bring friends, family and neighbors. Free parking is available on-street and in the nearby Kramer building lot, located at 322 Prospect Street.
