Supporters are invited to walk the line with members of Windham Hospital United Unions as they amplify their collective call for fair union contracts that address their facility’s care crisis. Technical, support service and maintenance employees will be on strike for two days and their nurse colleagues at Windham Community Memorial Hospital (WCMH) will be picketing in solidarity.
Since taking over the facility, Hartford HealthCare (HHC)'s executives have repeatedly come up short when it comes to retaining their number one asset; a skilled healthcare workforce. Members of our coalition's unions representing the nurses and allied health professionals have been working for nearly a year - much of it without contracts - to resolve this failure.
Join these courageous caregivers for a strike kick-off at 7:00am on Monday - or any time over the following 48 hours - to show support. Members will be demonstrating outside of WCMH where there is plenty of free street parking available.
